Most people don’t realize that acupuncture can help reduce and sometimes eliminate lines on the face — especially those on the forehead, corners of the mouth, the “smile lines between the bottom of the nostrils and the mouth, and “crows feet” on the side of the eyes. The treatment can also help keep those lines from getting worse. The reason is that facial rejuvenation acupuncture helps eliminate facial tension from stress and helps kick-in collagen production. However, going for this takes a commitment – 12 sessions (1 or 2 a week) within a 14 week period. And then, once a month for at least a year.
I am terrified of traditional plastic surgery or even getting botox, so this is a great suggestion I never would have thought of. I’ve never done acupuncture, do the needles hurt?
No, the needles do not hurt. They can be a little uncomfortable if placed in a sensitive spot I’ve been to acupuncture primarily for headaches and the bonus is that after the treatment, reduced headaches and relaxed, glowing complexion — someone asked me if I’d had “work done” post acupuncture session…
That question is asked of me often. The needles used for acupuncture facial rejuvenation mostly do not hurt at all. In fact the needles are so small and thin they are barely visible to the naked eye, and a tweezer is necessary to put them in; they are actually too small to pick up by hand. I have had very few people complain about pain. Most enjoy the session and look forward to coming back. You feel and look better the second you get off the table, and the reduction of stress is an added bonus.
