The Academy Awards

So I watched “The Academy Awards,” and can someone explain to me  why all those beautiful women wear their hair the same way > with long bangs covering one eye and half of their face; and, then, why do they wear those dresses where the boned bodice goes one way while their boobs go the other — particularly when they could have any dress in the world?

So, here’s the big question — knowing that none of this is really important, are these reasonable questions? Or … am I beginning to sound just like my mother?

Oh no! Maybe I’m turning into your mother too! I had the same reaction while watching the Academy Awards. I also kept saying (only in my head, so my 22-year-old daughter wouldn’t think I’m hopelessly uncool) “Why wouldn’t these guys shave and comb their hair for such an important event?” But then, if I had my way, they’d ALL look like George Clooney!

Harriett, these are exactly the kind of questions that should be asked! Don’t the young’uns need to learn from us wiser folks? 🙂

I watched Masterpiece on PBS instead; it was the second half of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth as Darcy, and THAT’s worth watching over and over. The Academy Awards? Not so much! — Robin in Anchorage, Alaska
