Should you just let your mate go …

We all know about the marriages that fail …

the marriages that should probably fail (even though they go on) …

and the marriages that fail for one mate but not the other.

Thus, this unexpected response by a wife who was totally surprised when her husband said those four mid-life words:  “I don’t love you anymore.”   Yes, her calm approach was definitely about their relationship; it took confidence and guts and perception.  But I can’t help but think it would apply to many of us … as well as make us happier with some of the less critical relationships we face everyday.

Want to know how she handled it?  Here’s the link to Laura Munson’s “Those Aren’t Fighting Words, Dear” in The New York Times, August 2, 2009

Fresh perspective and good article. Thanks

This is an excellent article and instead of this woman giving into weaknesses and trying to fix she was able to stand aside and allow her husband to fix his problems. Something I have had to learn the hard way many times.
