Probably never occurred to you that acupuncture might save you from the flu. Here’s why…

Self Care and Flu Prevention

Flu season is upon us again. Many of you may be getting flu shots; some of you may not. Regardless, acupuncture boosts your immune system and can help prevent you from getting the flu or any of the other maladies — sore throats and colds — that make us feel miserable in the winter. Both the National Institute of Health and the World Health Organization have approved acupuncture for both the maintenance and strengthening of the immune system.

There are a number of acupuncture points that are used specifically to tonify the chi and make you more resistant to any germs or virus. These points are known for strengthening the circulation of blood and energy and for consolidating the outer defense levels of the skin and muscles so germs and viruses cannot enter through them.

The treatments are done with ultra thin needles, are painless and take about a half hour. The points are very relaxing as well.

I also utilize specific stress management points and some hands on back and neck work during the treatments. Usually only one or two treatments at most are necessary.
