I think that it might be reasonable to stand by a cheating husband during a press conference if perhaps he were standing at the edge of a cliff, or behind a moat filled with alligators. One small but effective nudge, and every wife in America would mail a contribution to the legal defense fund.
If, however, standing by him on the podium keeps him more financially solvent, it is not up to me to judge the wisdom of that journey prior to the one to the attorney’s office.
And if you just plain love him enough to stand by him no matter what he has done, you take my breath away. We’d all like to be loved that much, but it rarely happens.
